Pastor’s Message

Our Lady of Perpetual Help School – Vancouver

As we look ahead to 2027, when Our Lady of Perpetual Help School will celebrate 100 years of tradition, faith, community life, and academic excellence, our hearts are filled with gratitude and hope.

For a full century, this school has been a place where faith has been nurtured, minds have been formed, and community has flourished. Generations of students and families have walked these halls, learning not only reading and arithmetic, but also compassion, responsibility, and trust in God’s abiding presence.

We gratefully acknowledge the rich legacy of the Sisters of Charity of Halifax, whose dedication, vision, and spirit laid a strong foundation for Catholic education at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Their faith-filled service, together with the tireless commitment of staff, families, and parish community over the decades, has shaped a school grounded in Gospel values and a deep sense of belonging.

In a changing world, Our Lady of Perpetual Help School has remained a place of stability and anchoring—a community where families know they are supported, where children are encouraged to grow in confidence and character, and where faith is lived each day with joy and care. Anchored in Christ and entrusted to the loving intercession of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, the school continues to be a beacon of hope for present and future generations.

As a Redemptorist parish community, we give thanks for all that has been, for all that is, and for all that is yet to come. May this centennial celebration be not only a remembrance of the past, but a renewed commitment to forming young hearts and minds rooted in faith, service, and love.

May God bless Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, its students, families, staff, and alumni—today and for the next hundred years.

With gratitude and prayer,

Fr. Leo G. English C.Ss.R.
